KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia has unveiled a comprehensive national energy-efficiency strategy with a target reduction of 11.6% in total energy demand by 2035. The new roadmap indicates increased regulatory control in the industrial sector, with higher benchmarks for manufacturing power usage, operational costs, and thermal boiler emissions. As compliance requirements tighten, industrial facilities are required to expedite the use of high-efficiency thermal alternatives and resource-recovery systems in order to fulfil national sustainability targets while maintaining production output.
