Malaysia’s CPO Prices Supported by Biodiesel Demand Despite Supply Pressure

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s crude palm oil (CPO) market is expected to remain stable in 2026, supported by Indonesia’s expanded B50 biodiesel programme and firm energy prices, which help maintain demand for palm oil as a renewable feedstock. However, stronger seasonal production, higher inventories, and uneven export demand may limit further price increases. At the same time, the plantation sector continues to focus on sustainability by improving traceability, strengthening ESG practices, and exploring circular economy opportunities such as biomass utilisation and renewable energy, helping Malaysian palm oil producers remain competitive in global markets.
