Strait of Hormuz Shipping Drops Sharply Following Tanker Attacks and Stalled U.S.-Iran Talks

SINGAPORE – Shipping trade thru the Strait of Hormuz has nearly come to a halt as a result of attacks on three Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) tankers and stalled peace talks between the United States and Iran. According to Kpler shiptracking data, commodities vessel transits fell to just five on Saturday and nil on Sunday, down from 31 the previous weekend, as vessel operators suspended movement fearing increased security risks and US threats of an indefinite naval blockade.
