MP Seeks Parliamentary Clarification on Commingled Oil Cargo Tax at Tanjung Langsat

JOHOR BAHRU – Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah Wee Tse has announced that he will address tax ambiguities surrounding commingled oil cargo kept in shore tanks at Tanjung Langsat Port in Parliament in order to obtain precise guidance from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. The problem is about the tax assessment, cargo valuation, and compliance requirements for petroleum products combined or blended in bonded storage tanks during transshipment and storage. Establishing a clear regulatory framework and documentation standards is considered as critical for reducing financial risk for operators, preserving investor confidence, and ensuring transparent bulk oil logistics across Malaysia’s maritime hubs.
