JAPAN – Following the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture, major Japanese automakers, including Toyota Motor, Nissan Motor, and Daihatsu Motor have decided to prolong their production halts due to severe supply chain disruptions and logistics bottlenecks. Kyushu, one of Japan’s prominent domestic automotive producers, representing 15% of output, has faced serious damage to key tier-1 supplier facilities such as Aishin Kyushu, forcing it to suspend its assembly line across interconnected networks.
