UNITED STATES – Global benchmark Brent crude recovered from multi-day losses, rising more than 3% to USD 106.60 a barrel in response to intercepted Houthi rocket attacks on Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure near the Red Sea and fresh US financial secondary sanctions. Combined with growing domestic unsubsidised commercial diesel rates (RM5.42/L), persistent overseas energy market volatility exposes Malaysian industrial operators, manufacturing facilities, and transportation fleets to increased operational expenses. Commercial organisations are increasingly turning to circular waste-to-energy solutions to deal with uncertain foreign crude surcharges.
