BYD, the global leader in electric vehicle manufacturing, has entered into a partnership with Manchester City Football Club as the club’s Official Automotive Partner.

The collaboration will unite the Chinese technology company with the Premier League club through what both describe as a mutual commitment to advancing sustainability, reported Sustainability Magazine.

According to BYD, the partnership adopts a comprehensive 360-degree approach that could reflect the BYD Group’s diverse innovation capabilities.

The agreement extends beyond simple branding, with BYD and DENZA vehicles set to be supplied to Manchester City.

BYD Group will also deploy its new-energy technology at the City Football Academy, the training and development facility used by the club’s men’s, women’s and academy teams, through vehicle charging infrastructure and energy-storage batteries.

BYD’s branding will appear on the training kit sleeve of the men’s first team, with the women’s first team set to feature the logo from next season.

The brand’s presence will also extend to the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City’s home ground, where it will feature on the headrests in the dugout area.

Additionally, one of the company’s vehicles will lead the official Manchester City men’s first team bus into the stadium for Premier League and domestic cup home fixtures.
