SHAH ALAM – As part of the forthcoming Selangor Green Economy Roadmap, the Selangor State Government is extending its specialized off-site recovery network certified by the Department of Environment (DOE) to handle electronic waste (SW110) and end-of-life electric vehicle batteries (SW103). The state, which runs 32 full and partial SW110 recovery centres in addition to two licensed SW103 facilities, reiterated that off-site processing must only use DOE-approved locations. Illegal dumping is subject to fines of up to RM 10 million and five years in prison under Section 34B of the Environmental Quality Act.
