Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has unveiled plans for a new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, set to be fully operational in Q1 2026. The plant will produce power and thermal management solutions, including coolant distribution units (CDUs), modular prefabricated data centers, supporting surging demand for AI and high-density computing.

A report by Digital News Asia noted that the expansion enhances Vertiv’s regional capacity, enabling faster delivery and scalability amid AI growth. Johor’s strategic location near Singapore, robust logistics, and reliable utilities make it ideal.

Andrew Whall, Vice President of Operations at Vertiv Asia, highlighted the facility’s role in providing scale and flexibility. It is expected to create up to 500 skilled local jobs over three years, utilising advanced automation for efficiency and sustainability.

The company is committed to growing and developing its workforce to support the new facility and expects to create up to 500 skilled local jobs over the next three years. The factory will also utilise modern automation technologies, resulting in an efficient and streamlined production environment focused on operational and manufacturing efficiency. This will enable the company to scale rapidly while maintaining quality and environmental responsibility.

“A facility of this importance depends on a highly skilled and engaged workforce, and we are proud to be creating meaningful, high-value jobs in the region that support both our long-term growth and Malaysia’s broader economic ambitions,” Whall added.
