YTL Cement Group has received the environmental product declarations (EPD) for products across its cement, concrete and precast product ranges .

An EPD is a third-party verified document that reports a product’s environmental impact throughout its life cycle, following international standards such as ISO14025 and the ISO14040 series. It is widely used in green building certifications.

According to a statement on the group’s site, the newly EPD certified products include Castle Cement – a Singapore Green Label certified cement formulated for bricklaying, screeding and concreting, and ECOConcrete™ Grade 40 and Grade 35, which are designed to reduce embodied carbon while maintaining strength and durability.

YTL Cement Group’s precast arm Eastern Pretech also obtained EPDs for its range of precast concrete products including hollow core slabs, beams, planks and double tee slabs.

“The attainment of EPD certification for our range of eco products marks a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable construction,” said YTL Cement executive director Rachel Yeoh.
