KUALA LUMPUR – Strong earnings reports from significant Malaysian plantation companies and tightening global vegetable oil stocks helped Crude Palm Oil (CPO) benchmark contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives hold steady between RM4,500 and RM4,560 per tonne today. Alongside peers like United Plantations, industry heavyweight SD Guthrie led the sector’s rebound with a 44% increase in 1H26 net profit to RM1.55 billion, fuelled by strong downstream margins and higher realised selling prices. strong operational and milling capacity across Malaysian estates is reflected in the price strength that has persisted, keeping processing activity strong across the nation’s agricultural supply chain.
