CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad has committed RM20 million from 2026 to 2030 to advance environmental conservation, restoration, biodiversity protection, environmental education and community empowerment nationwide.
According to the Business News portal, the renewed pledge, channelled through its flagship EcoSave-i savings account, aligns with the bank’s responsible finance principles and CIMB Group’s purpose of advancing customers and society. The commitment was announced at the CIMB Islamic Green Showcase, where partnerships were formalised with 12 conservation organisations, including Amanah Warisan Negara (AWAN), The Habitat Foundation, Reef Check Malaysia, WWF-Malaysia, Malaysia Nature Society, Malaysia Forest Fund and others.
CIMB Islamic also renewed its two-year agreement with AWAN to continue the Taman Tugu Adoption and Nature Education Programme, expanding outreach to schools and B40 communities. Programmes will span eight states: Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Johor, Terengganu and Sabah. CEO Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff emphasised that the initiative integrates Shariah-compliant sustainability into banking, fostering inclusive, responsible and ecologically resilient development for future generations.4 Keywords:
