KUALA LUMPUR – Lynas Rare Earths is contemplating a one-month stoppage at its Malaysian rare-earth processing facility to perform preventative kiln maintenance, which will temporarily reduce production throughout the quarter. Despite the anticipated shutdown, the company expects its existing inventory to meet consumer demand while minimising supply delays. Lynas manufactures rare earth materials for permanent magnets in electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy equipment, and other industrial applications. The maintenance program emphasises the importance of equipment reliability in refining operations, potentially increasing demand for specialised industrial cleaning, machinery repair, spent lubricant collection, and periodic waste management services.
