As procurement professionals face mounting pressure to deliver sustainable supply chains, DP World’s new carbon inset trial could offer a practical route to addressing Scope 3 emissions. For procurement teams managing complex logistics networks, the Insetify programme represents a tangible step towards meeting environmental targets without additional budget allocation.

According to the Procurement Magazine, the logistics industry is responsible for nearly 24% of global CO₂ emissions from road freight, maritime and air transport. For procurement departments, this poses a significant challenge when selecting suppliers and managing indirect emissions.

To tackle this, DP World is launching Insetify, a carbon inset trial aiming to reduce Scope 3 emissions across key European trade lanes. The initiative could provide procurement teams with a mechanism to demonstrate progress against sustainability KPIs whilst maintaining operational efficiency.
