KUCHING – Official announcements revealed that Malaysia has won the bid to host the prestigious 38th IEEE International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM) in 2026, marking the worldwide event’s return to the country after more than 30 years. The milestone win, set to take place in Kuching, Sarawak, highlights Malaysia’s growing presence in sophisticated semiconductors, precision wafer fabrication, and high-tech circuit systems. The conference, which brings together international researchers, engineers, and technology companies, highlights the rapid maturation of local industrial ecosystems, resulting in increased demand for specialised infrastructure, advanced chemical processing, and rigorous scheduled waste compliance standards across nationwide tech corridors.
