KUALA LUMPUR – Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has formally established a target of maintaining Malaysia’s oil and gas production at 2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (mmboe/d) until 2028. Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group CEO, spoke at the opening of Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) 2026, outlining an upstream strategy focusing on deep-water field developments, continuous exploration investment, and enhanced recovery projects to manage natural field decline. To meet this goal in the face of operating unpredictability, Petronas is boosting collaborative ventures, technological alliances, and alternative commercial frameworks throughout the local Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) ecosystem.
